Using Technology to Advance Your Care

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are taken using an advanced digital imaging and radiography system that vastly improves on traditional X-ray technology. Instead of relying on photography-based image development, the pictures are created instantly and projected onto a digital monitor. Taking the X-rays is much faster and emits up to 90% less radiation than traditional methods.

Digital Panoramic X-Rays

Digital panoramic X-rays combine the clarity and detail of several different digital X-rays, each taken from a different angle. The resulting image is a highly detailed and accurate 3D digital model of your teeth, jawbone, and oral structures. Digital panoramic X-rays are often used for comprehensive diagnosis and/or treatment planning, such as when planning your dental implant placement.

Intraoral Camera

We also utilize a digital intraoral camera during some routine examinations to gain a better picture of the state of your oral health. The camera is situated on a small wand that allows your dentist to view areas of your teeth, gums, and oral structures that are not easily viewable with the naked eye. Like digital X-rays, the image from the camera is instantly projected onto a digital chairside monitor for easy and instant viewing.

Cavitron

To make dental cleaning faster, more comfortable, and more convenient, we can use our advanced Cavitron ultrasonic cleaning technology. Instead of scraping plaque and tartar from the surfaces of your teeth and gum line, Cavitron utilizes carefully calibrated ultrasonic technology to use sound waves to break up plaque and tartar.

Nitrous Oxide

For patients who are anxious, nervous, or simply want a more comfortable experience, we may recommend nitrous oxide – commonly known as laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is a gentle sedation technique that involves inhaling the gas through your nose and exhaling it through the mouth. The sedative is gentle enough for patients of all ages to benefit, and its effects dissipate almost immediately after your treatment.
