X-Rays Use Less Radiation
First, we don’t use traditional x-rays. With a digital alternative, we employ a system that employs 90% less radiation. We don’t need to wait for images to develop, they’re available instantly chairside. We can walk you through the diagnostic process! Since they’re available immediately, we also don’t need to use harsh chemicals to develop them either. With our digital panoramic x-rays, we gather a series of images quickly and comfortably, using them to create a 3D model of your smile. We then make a thorough diagnosis with greater precision and accuracy. We use this for everything from diagnosing oral health issues, to guiding the placement of dental implants.
Intraoral Cameras
The intraoral camera also helps use make more accurate diagnoses. We use a digital camera at the end of a very thin wand, which enables us to gather a series of clear images of your teeth, gums, and oral structures with ease and comfort. These images will be projected chairside, so we can take a detailed look for the indicators of issues like cavities, gingivitis, gum disease, TMJ disorder, oral cancer, and bruxism (chronic teeth grinding).
The Cavitron
A dental cleaning is a great way to protect your smile. Removing all plaque and tartar helps lower the risk of tooth decay, infections, gingivitis, gum disease, and even bad breath and teeth stains. With the Cavitron ultrasonic system, we can use sound waves to break up and remove plaque with comfort, ease, and greater efficiency. We then polish your smile so you leave with better oral health and brighter teeth!
Sedation With Nitrous Oxide
Dental anxiety could mean that you avoid even routine care due to fear. Which means over time, minor issues like demineralization and inflamed gum tissues could cause tooth decay, gum disease, and a higher risk of tooth loss. To help our patients with anxiety obtain the care they need, we may suggest nitrous oxide sedation. This sedation helps them enter a calm and relaxed state with little to no memory of the procedure afterward. The effects then wear off almost immediately once the procedure ends!
