Tip #1: Request Nitrous Oxide
For patients dealing with anxiety – any level of anxiety, from mild nerves to extreme nervousness – we suggest you learn more about nitrous oxide. This is a sedative that you will inhale (no injections necessary). As a result, you can achieve a pleasant state of relaxation, so you feel completely at ease during dental visits. We suggest you request this option, so we may determine whether you qualify and may begin incorporating it into your care.
Tip #2: Don’t Keep Questions Bottled Up
Are there questions that are causing your severe dental anxiety to become worse? Perhaps you want to come in for a preventive visit but you simply want to know what to expect. Or, maybe you would like to request nitrous oxide but you’re not sure if we offer sedation for preventive care (we do). We much prefer you ask us your questions, so we may respond and provide you with the reassurance you need.
